Portland Writer's Mixer--
April 19th
Hello!
Tomorrow afternoon at Powell’s, Steve Arndt’s memorial. More information is also available here.
1:00-3:00, Downtown Powell’s.
Hope to see some of you there!
This coming month, we’ll have our mixer on Sunday, April 19th.
April Mixer:
Sunday
April 19th
5:00-7:30
Salon Rouge, 7804 SE Salmon St.

Here’s Something to Know: We’re going to shift gears, double down, party on and live large!
(That is to say, we’ll have two things happening, this round, beyond our usual unstructured, low key, open door time to say hello.)
Months back we talked about having our own mini book fair—and it was bumped a month or two. We WILL DO THAT NOW!
Bring a book you’d like to share, talk up, show around. Consider it a show-and-tell opportunity along with any possible sales or gifting, trades, whatever you’d like.
At first I was considering having parameters—for example, only one book, or only self published books, or only….—but you know what? Bring what you’d like! No parameters! Big five publishers to self publishing, it’s all good.
I trust your judgement.
The most important thing to me is that you know you’re welcome, with or without book(s) in hand. Also, you can make a book, stapled pages are sometimes my favorite pages, and very retro. (I loved those distant years when Kinkos was hip, (when it was still Kinkos)….late nights, cool people…)
Bring your books or those you’ve published, or those of a dear friend if you’d like.
THEN! Ta da!
The second half of our evening will be….a performance! It’s not long, and it’s worth seeing. You’ll be ready to find a chair, settle in, see something cool.
Specifically, Jusby is coming back to perform his interpretation of an essay…some of you saw a version of this last year, in May, when it caught us all by surprise in the best way. This round, we’re likely going to take a quick video of it. (Any videographer volunteers?)
We’ll be at Salon Rouge from 5-7:30, and it’ll be a blast. I hope you’ll be there.
Chat, swap books, talk books, have a drink of whatever sort of NA or A or whatever you choose, and say hi to Pat and Mark, support the Salon Rouge, writers, performers, clowns, creatives and good times.
I hope to see you there!
Cheers,
Monica
ps—if I’ve forgotten anything, if you have questions…let me know!

I wanna come!
I’m in. 🦇🦋
