The whole ice block process begs the question. How did she get blocks frozen large enough that she could stand on them? I know that isn't the point of the article but it is kinda strange.

Ya know, Laurie, you can stop when you get tired. I don't believe this, but its a great story.
Maybe it’s just me, but every kind of tape I’ve ever used would run to the end of the spool, and you’d have to stop and rewind or switch out the tape.
It’s a fascinating concept, but this feels like it might be a big fish story.

So I was picturing her playing for hours and thinking “how is she going to have a tape that long inside a violin.”
But an hour that would work of course. And as a Canadian I’m ashamed to admit that I would have fallen over much faster (I can’t even skate…)
