Workshop Means--
AI Be Damned. Let's Hear Your Voice.

Until recently, I didn’t actually know what it means to “scale” a business. Apparently it’s something along the lines of increasing your reach without adding more work. From what I’ve seen, it means using videos, pre-packaged materials and AI to create “content” and other technological tools to offer generic “courses”. Everyone is on it!
One site tells me that if I put in five prompts, I’ll have a full course selection available in minutes!
Maybe I’ll do that…next round…? Maybe.
For now, even in this modern world, I come to workshop welcoming a kind of slowing down, reaching for a thoughtful, highly personalized and creative connection in a small group. I’m not using AI. I’m not “scaling” anything.
I listen to every writer who shows up.
Prioritizing money over art has never really been my nature—and I suppose that’s a problem, as we live under Capitalism, but I feel like more people are coming to share the view that what matters in life is our individual quirks, our humanity, the natural world, time, art and ideas.
When I offer a workshop, my least favorite part is the stretch between putting the word out and making sure workshop fills. That’s where I am, now! It’s the time of getting the word out—self promotion, perhaps. Later, people inevitably say, Ah! If I had known…so, here’s the word: workshop!
I have room for about three more vibrant, curious, individual writers who want to engage in old school art making, without tech, without polish perhaps, but with craft and interest and love.
I may not offer this again. Not sure.
This is the time to jump in. Right now. I’d love to work with you.
Next time—maybe I’ll be AI. Ha! Maybe I’ll “scale” my business as though climbing Mt. Everest. Maybe I’ll automate the entire experience. More likely I’ll write, enjoying life in the world of ideas. (AI is a bummer in so many ways…)
Writing is a team sport. We’re in it together.
All writers, any level, are welcome. Enjoy the experience, enrich your work and meet a few other writers along the way.
I learned to write in workshop. Coming together to discussing writing was, for me, the path to writing and publishing work. I hope to offer the same to you.
Always cheering you on,
xo

If only it weren’t on Sundays. I’ll share and spread the word, though. Those last three people will have a blast, I’m sure
I'm looking forward to it. The last workshop was great.
